HiveGuard Miticidal Entranceway:

Thymol is released onto passing bees via contact and subtle agitation, causing the varroa mites to disengage from the bee abdomen as they enter the hive. Thymol will also be consistently released as a gas into the headspace of the hive, enabling automatic and continued control of the varroa mite population.

Using this dual-function mechanism, the new entranceway will administer thymol directly to the passing bee, reaching the lethal concentration for varroa mites, so that mites detach, and die yet leaving the honeybee unharmed. Continued release of thymol gas into the hive will create a hostile environment for those mites that are lodged within the hive, thus controlling their population.
